Our top priority is to provide an exceptional experience to you and your family during your stay with us.
Good communication is essential to our success together. That is why patients and their family members will find communication boards in their patient care rooms.
Communication Boards are whiteboards located by patients’ bedside. Communication Boards support good communication by helping the care team understand your priorities, and engages patients and families in developing your care plan. We are in the process of co-creating Communication Boards (example below) with patients, families, and interprofessional staff that are specific to the different areas of the Health Centre.
During your stay, if your unit has developed Communication Boards, there will be markers posted on the wall. The purpose of these boards is to support communication between patient, families, and the care team. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please consider using the Communication Board. This will help us to provide an exceptional experience to you and your family during your stay; however, please advise a member of your care team if you are uncomfortable using the Communication Board.
Your feedback is important to us! Please provide your feedback by completing the Communication Board Survey using your bedside computer terminal.
We are committed to providing an exceptional experience to you and your family during your stay. We are excited about this initiative as we continue to build on our strengths together and making the patient and family experience at St. Joe’s truly exceptional.
