Spiritual and Religious Care
Spiritual and Religious Care is offered to individuals and families in order to ensure that the spiritual and religious dimensions of health and healing are provided in the context of a holistic, patient-focused model of care.
We offer a wide range of services, including:
- Pastoral visitation
- Sacramental ministry
- Religious services (see: Special Services )
- Ministry of the dying
- Crisis intervention
- Pastoral counseling
- Grief support
- Staff support
- Collaboration with local clergy
Our Multi-Faith room is located on the 2nd floor of our Morrow Wing, room 2M20, which is open 24-hours every day of the year and available to all people for personal prayer, reflection or meditation.
Chaplains are available to patients and their loved ones 24 hours a day, seven days a week for pastoral visitation, spiritual guidance, prayer and sacraments. If you would like a member of your faith to attend to your spiritual needs or those of your loved ones, please speak to a chaplain who will make arrangements on your behalf.
For urgent requests or requests requiring immediate attention – please have unit staff page the chaplain via the first call pager – 416-739-5324.
For non-urgent requests – patients and families can call the department at 416-530-6165 or drop by the office during the day Monday – Friday or have unit staff page the chaplain via the first call pager at 416-739-5324.
Chapel
Location : 2nd Floor Morrow Wing by the main elevators.
It is always open, 24-hours a day, as a place for quiet and personal prayer for people of all denominations and all faiths
Catholic Mass :
Monday to Friday at 12 noon
Sunday at 10:30 am
Quarterly Memorial Services are held in the months of March, June, September and December
Eucharistic Ministry provided on Sundays for patients and their families
