Welcome to Our Virtual Information Desk
Need directions to a department or clinic? Want to visit a patient? We're here to help!

Use our "Virtual Information Desk", accessible at the top of any page on our website by clicking on this Visitor Information Panel icon icon, to help answer common questions or help you find your way before and during your hospital visit.

Of course, you can visit our onsite main Information Desk located at the Melnyk Entrance (off of the Queensway) which is open from 7am to 9pm, Monday to Friday, and from 9am to 9pm Weekends and Holidays. Feel free to call us at 416-530-6000.

Two people volunteering at St. Joe's

St. Joe’s offers a multitude of opportunities to meet your personal goals and interests. The majority of volunteer shifts are available Monday to Friday, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with some positions on weekends and evenings. Here are some examples:

Patient Support

(for example in the Emergency or Paediatrics)

  • Providing emotional support to patients & families
  • Informing Healthcare team of patient’s needs
  • One-on-one visiting

First Impressions

(for example Courtesy Desk)

  • Providing information or directing patients, families and visitors
  • Escorting or transporting outpatients

Retail and Fundraising

(for example Gift Ship or Foundation)

  • Supporting revenue-generating operations
  • Providing ongoing customer service

Recreational Support

(for example Pet Therapy)

  • Assisting with pet, music, clowning or other recreational support

Other Opportunities

  • Leading, training or mentoring new volunteers
  • Providing special project support for various units or departments

High School Co-op Program
