Intensive Care Unit
Our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a special unit that cares for patients who are critically ill. Specially-trained staff provide care for the patients in this 20-bed unit with specialized technology and therapies. There are approximately 900 patients each year admitted to the ICU. Our ICU is located on the second floor of the Barnicke wing.
Visiting hours
Our ICU supports open visiting – we value the support that family and friends can bring to critically ill patients. The entrance to the ICU is restricted so you will be asked to pick up the telephone at the door to request entrance.
We recommend that patients should have no more than two visitors at a time in the room. Visits of more than two people may be accommodated through collaboration with the patient and the care team.
