To help provide a welcome environment for patients and visitors, St. Joseph’s Health Centre is allowing the use of cell phones and wireless communication devices in specific areas of the Health Centre.
Signs have been posted throughout the Health Centre notifying the public where they can and cannot use wireless communication devices. Persons using wireless communication devices in permitted areas are strongly encouraged to respect the peace and quiet of others. Please be discreet with your conversations and keep your voice at a level that will not disturb others.
In keeping with strict provincial privacy guidelines designed to preserve patient confidentiality, cell phones and other wireless communication devices must not be used by anyone to photograph, take video images or record conversations of any patient, physician, volunteer or staff member in the Health Centre without prior authorization. Please speak to a member of your St. Joseph’s health care team.
The chart below outlines the areas where patients, visitors and the general public can and cannot use wireless communication devices in the Health Centre. For more information about where you can use wireless communication devices at St. Joseph’s, please visit the main switchboard located in the Melnyk Entrance and your inquiry will be directed to the most appropriate department.
