$34.21 to $47.310 per hour, 25 Year Experience Rate $48.11 per hour

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, ICU/PACU/RT and working collaboratively as a co-lead with the Critical Care Response Team (CCRT) Physician Site-Lead, the Team Leader will oversee the daily activities and functioning of the Critical Care Response Team and liaise with patient care units to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care.

The Team Leader, CCRT, will play a leadership role by providing instruction and direction to staff regarding the role of the CCRT, disseminating information, and providing mentorship to all stakeholders. The Team Leader will additionally participate clinically as an RN member of the CCRT and in the ICU. The candidate will have completed the 2 day CCRT training course & participates as an active CCRT member.

Responsibilities Will Include:
• Overseeing the daily activities and functioning of the CCRT.
• Reviewing and addressing any issues which arise concerning calls to the CCRT from the wards.
• Providing direction and instruction regarding the function and role of the CCRT to team members and staff across the Health Centre through information presentations and other communication channels.
• Working with the Physician Site Lead to market and promote the CCRT team to nursing leadership and other stakeholder groups.
• Liaising with nursing leadership to obtain information relevant to the needs of ward staff as they relate to the CCRT.
• Providing assistance with the development of any related policies/procedures or directives for the CCRT.
• Collecting and tracking CCRT patient data for submission to the Ministry.
• Scheduling CCRT team members for required training courses.
• Working clinically in the CCRT RN assignment and as a bedside ICU RN.
1. Current RN Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required .
2. Critical Care Certificate required.
3. Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
4. Canadian Nurses Association Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CACCN) preferred.
5. Current BLS and ACLS Certificates required.
6. Currently an active CCRT member required.
7. A minimum of 5 years recent experience on CCRT required.
8. Demonstrated recent leadership experience required
9. Demonstrated critical thinking, conflict resolution, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
10. Excellent communication skills, including demonstrated ability to provide instruction and training to other staff members (teaching ability).
11. Demonstrated ability to market and promote an initiative(s).
12. Demonstrated responsibility for own professional development.
13. Role model, mentor and coach with demonstrated team building skills.
14. Familiar with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and presentation equipment (overheads, LCD projectors).
15. Satisfactory attendance record.
